Is Ultherapy Right for You?
Ultherapy/HIFU may be appropriate for adults with mild to moderate skin laxity who want a non-surgical lifting and tightening treatment. It may be used in selected areas of the face, neck, brow, or upper chest, depending on the device's authorized treatment areas.
Treatment should not be performed directly over open wounds, active infections, severe or cystic acne, active electronic implants, or certain metal implants in the treatment area. It must not be used on or in a manner that could direct ultrasound energy toward the eyes.
Tell us about pregnancy, medications, implanted devices, dental or facial implants, previous fillers, threads, surgery, and other cosmetic treatments. Results develop gradually and vary. Ultherapy/HIFU is not a replacement for a surgical facelift.
Treatment suitability is determined during your consultation. Medical clearance may be required, and treatment may be adjusted, postponed, or declined for safety reasons.

At 70, I went in for a ButteryFly FaceLift with low expectations. Hey, I'm 70, worked hard owning our own business and spent a lot of time in the sun when I was young. But Jim has proven me wrong. Is Ultherapy painful?+
You'll feel warmth and brief stinging as energy reaches the deeper tissue layers — most clients rate it a 4–6 out of 10. We use topical numbing and pre-treatment pain management to keep the session comfortable, and the sensation stops the moment each pulse is delivered.
How long does a treatment take?+
A typical session runs about 30 to 90 minutes depending on the areas treated. A full face and neck takes the most time, while a single area such as the brow or under-chin is much quicker, so most clients fit it easily into their day.
Is there any downtime?+
There is minimal downtime for many clients. You may notice mild redness, slight swelling, or temporary tenderness for a few hours, but you can return to work, exercise, and normal activities the same day.
How soon will I see results, and how long do they last?+
Some clients notice early tightening within a few weeks, but the main lift develops over 2–3 months and continues up to 6 months as new collagen forms. Results typically last 12–24 months; because the new collagen becomes part of your skin while natural aging continues, many clients return for an annual maintenance session.
How many sessions will I need?+
Most clients achieve their goal with a single Ultherapy session and then maintain it over time. Those with more advanced laxity may benefit from a second session or from combining technologies for a stronger lift.
What areas can Ultherapy treat?+
The most popular areas are the brow (for a subtle lift), under the chin, the jawline, the neck, and the fine lines on the chest (décolletage). At your consultation we map the areas that will give you the most natural improvement.
Who is a good candidate?+
Ultherapy works best for adults roughly 35–75 with mild to moderate laxity on the face, neck, or décolletage who want firmer skin without surgery. If your goals would be better met by a surgical procedure, we'll tell you honestly at your consultation.
Can I have Ultherapy with Botox or filler?+
Yes. Ultherapy works well alongside injectables — we simply recommend scheduling it about two weeks before or after filler so everything settles properly.
How much does Ultherapy cost in Newport Beach?+
