Is Microneedling with AQ Growth Factors Right for You?
Microneedling may be appropriate for adults seeking improvement in the appearance of fine lines, uneven texture, enlarged pores, and certain acne scars.
Treatment may need to be postponed or avoided when there is an active skin infection, open wound, active acne outbreak, cold-sore outbreak, impaired healing, uncontrolled medical condition, or irritation in the treatment area. A history of abnormal or keloid scarring, bleeding problems, immune suppression, or medications that affect healing or bleeding requires additional evaluation.
AQ growth-factor serum is applied topically as part of the treatment protocol; it is not injected.
Temporary redness, tightness, peeling, discomfort, bruising, or pinpoint bleeding can occur. Less common risks include infection, pigment changes, and cold-sore reactivation. Results vary.
Treatment suitability is determined during your consultation. Medical clearance may be required, and treatment may be adjusted, postponed, or declined for safety reasons.

At 70, I went in for a ButteryFly FaceLift with low expectations. Hey, I'm 70, worked hard owning our own business and spent a lot of time in the sun when I was young. But Jim has proven me wrong. Recently went to Newport Beach Skin Tightening for a scar removal treatment with Jim, and I’m honestly really happy with my experience. The treatment included microneedling and another add-on (can’t remember the name!), but the whole thing was painless thanks to Jim’s strong numbing cream. After first session, I can already see my acne scars softening and blending into my skin. My skin feels smoother, and I’m starting to get my confidence back, excited to see the results and will update after my second visit. What is RF microneedling?+
RF microneedling combines two collagen-building treatments: fine microneedles create tiny channels in the skin while radiofrequency energy is delivered through them into the deeper layers. Together, microneedling and radiofrequency are designed to support collagen renewal and improve the appearance of skin laxity, uneven texture, fine lines, certain scars and enlarged pores. Results and treatment suitability vary. It is a collagen-induction technique, not a cosmetic injection — no fillers, Botox® or injectable cosmetic products are used.
How is RF microneedling different from regular microneedling?+
RF microneedling combines controlled microchannels with radiofrequency energy delivered below the skin's surface. Traditional microneedling creates controlled microchannels without the added radiofrequency energy.
What does it treat?+
It's excellent for mild to moderate laxity, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, acne scars, and crepey skin on the face, neck, and body.
Is it painful? What are the side effects?+
Topical numbing is used for comfort. Sensations and discomfort vary by client, treatment area and settings. Temporary redness, mild swelling, and occasional light peeling are the usual side effects, and they resolve within a few days.
Is there any downtime?+
Plan for about 24 hours of redness similar to a mild sunburn, sometimes with light swelling or pinpoint marks that fade within a few days. Most clients return to normal activities the next day and can wear mineral makeup once any redness settles.
How long until I see results?+
Most clients notice improvement within 4–6 weeks, with optimal results around 3–6 months as new collagen forms. A series of sessions produces the best outcome.
How many sessions will I need?+
Most clients do best with 3–4 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, though some see meaningful improvement after a single treatment.
How long do results last?+
Because RF microneedling builds new collagen, the improvement is long-lasting; most clients maintain results with an annual touch-up as natural aging continues.
